研究室住宅課題2020-余白を楽しむ家

「余白」とは「余ってしまった」空間ではない。住宅建築において「心にゆとりが生まれる」空間である。例えば、周辺に建物が所狭しと立ち並び、道幅も狭く、歩道も少ないような場所がある。このような場所において、ふとした時に現れる「余白」は言葉にし難い素晴らしい空間となる。

The term 'margin' doesn't refer to leftover space. In architectural design, it denotes spaces that create a sense of mental breathing room. For instance, in areas where buildings crowd closely together, with narrow streets and few sidewalks, these moments of 'margin' can become indescribably wonderful spaces that offer respite.
